Two different places in Cape Coral answer to the name Gold Coast — a market district covering five platting units, and one late-1970s subdivision inside it. What each name covers, why “no bridges” means no bridge to the river rather than to the Gulf, and the roughly eleven miles of Caloosahatchee that sits between a Gold Coast dock and open water.

Sailboat access is the most valuable phrase in Cape Coral real estate and one of the least verified. Nobody certifies it, and an honest seller can still have it wrong. The eight checks that settle it for a specific address — charted clearance against the right datum, the two ceilings that govern the region, depth nobody sounds, and the cables nobody counts.
